Helical Attachment

No need for angled abutments

HELICAL ATTACHMENT

It is made of metal and can be used semi-permanently, it is a new concept of Attachment that has made possible long life of abutment and fixture with excellent cushioning function.

What is a helical attachment?

When trying to reconstruct the oral condition using dentures, two or more fixtures are placed in the alveolar bone to reinforce the fixing power of the dentures. Helical Attachment refers to a device in which instruments are placed on the top and bottom of the denture so that these instruments can be combined with each other.

Problems of existing products

Due to the large volume, the attachment often protrudes to the buccal side of the denture. The life span is shortened due to the limitation of the function of buffering force applied to the fixture in case of an implant with a small size or poor alveolar bone where the fixture is placed. And since the structure that exerts fastening force is made of polymer, there is a limit of durability and frequent repairs are required. And when the angle of insertion between the installed fixtures is more than 20°, a separate angled abutment is often required. In addition, when the alveolar bone is absorbed over time and the denture base is not repaired immediately, excessive impact is applied to the fixture, which has a structural vulnerability that shortens the life of the fixture.
Protruding phase due to large volume
Limitation of buffer function against occlusal force
Limited durability and frequent repairs
Angled abutment is required at more than 20 degrees

Advantages of Denflex Helical Attachment

All components are made of metal, ensuring excellent service life. In addition, since it does not give an excessive impact to the fixture with its shock absorbing function, it performs sufficiently with a small fixture and extending the lifespan. With shock-absorbing function, the product does not protrude to the constricted side of the denture though the size of the abutment part fastened to the fixture is small (3.7mm). So there is no awkward feeling. There is no need for separate angled abutment. And unlike other attachments, alveolar bone resorption occurs less. When the dentures are positioned below the original position, the Helical Attachment has a space to accommodate them.
